Golf Tournament Results

Results of the 19th Annual Skidmark Open Golf Tournament
November 6th, 2010
Twenty-two brave souls endured hurricane-force winds, a driving dust storm, pelting rain, and temporary greens in last week’s Skidmark Golf Tournament.
Five teams competed. One team captured first place and one team corralled the coveted last place honors. That means three teams just played for the “hell - of - it”.  All had a great time using just two “special” rules. The string rule was utilized for missed putts and the women’s rule for tee shots.
The team of Charla Godfrey, Mike Whitney, Sue Crawford, Bob Williams, and Steve Lane registered a final score of 46 (No - I didn’t stutter, that’s 27 under par).  They had only 19 strokes after the first nine holes. Are you thinking the same thing --- ????
In the “Who-Cares” categories were the teams of:
     2nd Placers:  Shari Williams, Leslie Sorensen, Dave Rodriguez, and Jim Crawford with a
           score of 48;
     3rd Placers:  Kim Rodriguez, Glenda Whitney, Tony Vasquez, David Pasquini, and Bob
          Craine with a score of 49;
    4th Placers:  Jeannie Craine, Vickie Lane, Roger Hunt, Clay Whitney, and Dave ?? (I can’t
          remember his name – Drew’s buddy) at 50.
And – taking the privileged and trophied last-place honors was the team of Lynn MacDonald, Anita Hunt, Gil Jessup and Drew Sorensen.  They shot a score of 50 also, but lost the tiebreaker (scored higher on the 2nd most difficult hole on the course – I’ll explain that if you want to call me!) For their efforts, losing team members received an individual “WE GOT SCREWED” trophy. These special awards will be coveted in years to come!!
The specialty awards went to:  Clay Whitney and Leslie Sorensen for the Longest Drives and David Pasquini and Charla Godfrey for the Closest-to-the-Hole.
We all enjoyed a friendly meal at the Orange Blossom Restaurant and reflected on all the great shots and some of the really crappy shots.

See You All at Bocce (sometime in the Spring).
